  • What does a membership in A Working Lab Universum Umeå entail? What do you get access to?

    AWL Universum Umeå, located in the heart of the university area, is a natural meeting place for everyone on campus. Here, you'll find private offices, flexible workspaces, meeting rooms, and event space. All members have free access to Wi-Fi, coffee, and printers. As part of A Working Lab, you also become a part of both a local and national community.

  • How does AWL differ from other coworking environments?

    The environments function just like a regular office but also offer something extra, such as unexpected encounters and inspiration. All A Working Lab locations are on or near university campuses, making it easier for researchers, students, businesses, and the community to come together. We encourage all members to make the most of the opportunity for collaboration and development of this shared workspace. Suggestions for activities and initiatives that inspire working together with others are welcome.

  • Do you offer larger conference rooms or meeting spaces?

    There are several modern meeting rooms suitable for both larger and smaller meetings or events. There's a large event space, Rotundan, with room for up to 300 participants, as well as several smaller meeting rooms fully equipped for your meeting.

  • Can I, as a member, access your other AWL environments around the country?

    As a member of AWL UNIVERSUM, you automatically gain access to all AWL environments in Solna, Flemingsberg, Stockholm, and Gothenburg.

  • What's happening in your AWL community?

    Together with partners, events and seminars are organized. As a part of A Working Lab, you become a member of both a local and a national community.

  • How do I travel to A Working Lab Universum?

    Campus Umeå is located about two kilometers from Umeå's city center. AWL Universum is centrally located on campus within walking distance to public transports. It's easy to both bike and travel by bus to and from the campus.

  • What is available in the area?

    Campus Umeå hosts the majority of Umeå University's research and educational activities, with nearly 40,000 students and 2,000 researchers present daily. There's also SLU, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Near the campus, you'll find various sports facilities, student housing, and other establishments. Umeå University Hospital is a neighbor. Around campus, you'll also find several service establishments like cafes and restaurants.
