In March 2025, we will open A Working Lab @ Sahlgrenska, a new temporary pop-up lounge where students, researchers and other employees with links to the University of Gothenburg and Sahlgrenska University Hospital can meet, work and be inspired together.

A place for new ideas and creative clashes

A Working Lab is about creating meeting places where people from different disciplines can exchange their ideas. This lounge is just such a place – an open, flexible space where conversations and collaborations can arise spontaneously. Whether you need a quiet workspace, an informal meeting place or just an environment to land in between lectures and research sessions, you are welcome to use the lounge.

Reuse and sustainability in focus

To create an inspiring environment with the smallest possible climate footprint, we have decorated the lounge with recycled furniture and things we already have. Instead of leaving the premises unused after a previous lunch restaurant closed, we have transformed them into a vibrant and dynamic workspace. This is a way to test new concepts for how we can use campus spaces in a more flexible and resource-smart way.

Open to everyone on campus

A Working Lab @ Sahlgrenska is a place for everyone who has a connection to the university or hospital – whether you are a student, researcher, teacher or employee. There is seating for both focused work and informal meetings, and we encourage you to use the space in the ways that best suit your needs.
